The Accounting Chamber of Ukraine
delegation participated in the
I Meeting of the EUROSAI Working
Group
on the Audit of Funds Allocated to
Disasters and Catastrophes
On February 5, 2015
under the chairmanship of the
Accounting Chamber of Ukraine the
I Meeting of the EUROSAI
Working Group on the Audit of Funds
Allocated to Disasters and
Catastrophes took place.
The event was organized by the
Accounting Chamber of Ukraine
together with the European Court of
Auditors.
Chairman of the Accounting Chamber
of Ukraine Roman Maguta
headed the delegation of the
Ukrainian SAI for the
aforementioned Meeting, which was
also attended by President of the
European Court of Auditors
Vítor Caldeira,
President of the Supreme Audit
Office of the Republic of Poland
Krzysztof Kwiatkowski
together with representatives from
17 participating supreme audit
institutions.
During the plenary session
delegates exchanged experience on
the best practice of conducting
audits on prevention and
consequences elimination of
disasters and catastrophes as well
as implementation methodology of
the ISSAIs 5500. Results of the
international coordinated audit
(control) of the use of funds
allocated to prevention and
elimination of wildfires as well as
results of the international
coordinated audit (control) of the
use of budget funds allocated to
prevention and consequences
elimination of catastrophes were
presented as well.
In the framework of the
I Meeting of the Working
Group Chairman of the Accounting
Chamber of Ukraine Roman Maguta
held bilateral meetings with
President of the European Court of
Auditors Vítor Caldeira and
President of the Supreme Audit
Office of the Republic of Poland
Krzysztof Kwiatkowski. Parties
discussed current state and
perspectives for intensification of
bilateral and multilateral
cooperation, in particular within
improvement of control mechanisms
of the EU financial and technical
assistance to Ukraine, involvement
of aforementioned SAIs in further
monitoring of recommendation
implementations of Chernobyl
Shelter Fund international
coordinated audit as well as other
relevant topics.
On the result of the Meeting the
Working Group's Strategy and Action
Plan for 2015-2017 as well as the
Report of the WG's Secretariat on
its activities were adopted for
their further presentation during
XLIII Meeting of EUROSAI
Governing Council
(March 10, 2015,
Helsinki, Republic of Finland).
