The pilot financial audit to be conducted by the Accounting Chamber
of Ukraine with the support of the British experts

The pilot financial audit will be conducted by the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine and will be aimed at improvement of the auditing capacity of the Ukrainian specialists. The audit is supported by the National Audit Office (NAO) of the United Kingdom and the German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation (GIZ) and will take place during the first half of 2016 in the framework of the plan of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine and within the GIZ Project of the Support to Public Finance Management Reform.

A number of control and analytical measures have been realized after the new Law of Ukraine “On the Accounting Chamber” (August 2015) has entered into force, which foresees conduction of the financial audits. The complete audit reports are published on the website of the Institution in compliance with the law, the European integration processes, increasing transparency of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine.

The first working visit of the British experts to the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine took place on 19-29 January 2016. Joint activities on the mentioned pilot control and analytical measure will be organized as a non-stop process until June, followed by working visits of the NAO coaches. Totally five phases of the project will be held.

Mrs. Mariya Shulezhko, Director of the Agricultural Industry, Nature Protection and Emergencies Audit Department - Member of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine noticed that the results of the pilot financial audit will form the basis for the guidelines on conduction of that type of audits using International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAI).
