Deepening Cooperation with Poland and Slovak Republic
in the framework of Joint International Audit

On 19-21 July 2016 delegation from the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine headed by Head Controller - Director of the Agricultural Industry, Nature Protection and Emergencies Audit Department, Member of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine Mariya Shulezhko visited Republic of Poland to take part in the meeting of participants of the trilateral international coordinated audit of East Carpathian Biosphere Reserve (Supreme Audit Institutions of Ukraine, the Republic of Poland and Slovak Republic).

Reference: International East Carpathian Biosphere Reserve is the first trilateral biosphere reserve in the world and second in terms of territory biosphere reserve in Europe, which is located on the territory of Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine and was included in 1998 to the World Network of Biosphere Reserves in the framework of UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Program.

On the territory of Ukraine the reserve includes Uzhanskiy National Nature Park and Sian Regional Landscape Park.

During the meeting the parties discussed the issues of the said international coordinated audit, including clarification and harmonization of the audit goal, its subject and the criteria, the period of implementation.

Reference: constituent meeting on the matter of preparation and implementation of the international coordinated audit of East Carpathian Biosphere Reserve was held on 21-22.12.2015 in Lviv (Ukraine). During the meeting, among other things, the participating representatives of SAIs-participants of the control activity were acknowledged with the draft Common Position on Cooperation of Supreme Audit Institutions of the Republic of Poland, Slovak Republic and Ukraine during the international audit, which was prepared by the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine.

During the visit to the Republic of Poland parties signed the Common Position on Cooperation of Supreme Audit Institutions of the Republic of Poland, Slovak Republic and Ukraine during the International Coordinated Audit of Transboundary East Carpathian Biosphere Reserve.

On behalf of the SAI of Ukraine the document was signed by the Head Controller - Director of the Agricultural Industry, Nature Protection and Emergencies Audit Department, Member of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine Mariya Shulezhko.

The audit is to be completed in 2017.
